Excavation FAQ
What people ask before they hire us for excavation. If yours isn't here, call or fill out the form, we'll answer it.
- Q01How long does a residential excavation take out here?
- Most jobs around Rockwall, Kaufman, and Hunt counties take 1–3 days. Foundations, ponds, utility trenches, that's the typical window. Larger commercial pads or deep utility work can run 4–7 days depending on soil and access.
- Q02What do you do with all the dirt you dig out?
- Your call, we talk about this at the estimate so there's no surprise on job day. We can haul it off, stockpile it on your property for later fill use, or regrade it in place if the material's good.
- Q03Do I need a permit before you start digging in Texas?
- Depends on your county and what you're digging. In most rural East Texas counties, residential excavation doesn't require a permit, but work near utilities or above certain depths can. We call 811 before every single dig, no exceptions.
- Q04Can you work near my house, shop, or tree line without damaging anything?
- Yes, carefully. We use smaller equipment and hand-dig techniques when we're close to structures, fences, or trees you want to keep. Just point out what needs protecting before we start.
