1. The TL;DR
When you submit our contact form, M&M Excavation and its development partner Frontend Horizon receive what you typed plus a small amount of technical data we use to keep the form from being abused by bots. We use that information to respond to you. That's the whole product. We don't sell or rent your data. We don't share it with advertising networks. We don't set tracking cookies for ad targeting.
2. What we collect
From the contact form (when you submit it)
- What you type — first name, last name, phone, email, the service you selected, and the project details you wrote
- Honeypot field — an invisible form field used to catch bots; if you accidentally fill it, your submission is silently discarded
Captured server-side automatically
- Source URL — which page on our site you submitted from, so the right context is attached when Michael follows up
- Time-on-page signal — when the form was first opened in your browser; compared against submission time to filter out instant bot fills
- IP address — recorded in server logs for ~30 days for abuse mitigation (rate limiting, blocking obvious spam)
- User-agent string — the browser/device you submitted from, for the same reason
What we don't collect
- No third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads conversion pixels at this time)
- No third-party fingerprinting
- No location more precise than what your IP discloses
3. Why we use it
- To respond to your inquiry. Michael reads what you sent and gets back to you within one business day with next steps.
- To send you a confirmation email letting you know we received your request — only if you provided an email address.
- To prevent abuse. IP, user-agent, and time-on-page signals are used to detect and block automated spam.
4. Who sees it
- M&M Excavation — Michael and any office staff who help with scheduling.
- Frontend Horizon — the development team that built and operates the site. Lead alerts route to
forms@frontendhorizon.comfor triage before forwarding. - Resend — our transactional email provider, used to deliver the alert and confirmation emails. Resend processes the email content as a data sub-processor; their privacy notice is at resend.com.
- Our server host — handles the HTTPS request and stores server logs. Logs are retained ~30 days.
We don't sell your data, share it for advertising, or trade it with other companies. Period.
5. How long we keep it
- Email content — kept in the recipient inbox at M&M / Frontend Horizon indefinitely until manually deleted, or until you request deletion.
- Server logs — IP, user-agent, request timestamps: ~30 days, rotating.
- Resend delivery logs — held by Resend per their retention policy (typically 30 days).
6. Your rights
You can email forms@frontendhorizon.com at any time and ask us to:
- Send you a copy of what we have on file from your submission
- Delete what we have on file
- Stop following up
We'll honor those requests within a reasonable timeframe (typically a few business days). If you're a California resident, the rights described in the CCPA apply; if you're an EU/UK resident, the rights described in the GDPR apply. Email us — we'll work it out.
7. Cookies
The site uses minimal essential cookies for things like remembering scroll position. We do not currently use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers. If we add analytics in the future, this notice will be updated and a banner or setting will be available.
8. Children
The site is intended for adults considering excavation and dirtwork services. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, email us and we'll delete it.
9. Brief terms of use
- The site is provided as-is, for general informational purposes. Pricing examples (cost ranges, timelines, project values) are illustrative and not binding offers — every M&M project gets a written, signed scope and price after an on-site walkthrough.
- License and insurance information shown on the site is accurate to the best of M&M's knowledge as of the effective date. Certificates of insurance and license verification are available on request.
- Photos and project descriptions on the site reflect real M&M jobs. Where a project page names a third party, that party has consented to M&M referencing the project publicly.
- By using the site, you agree to the laws of the State of Texas governing any dispute related to your use of the site.
10. Changes
If we change this policy materially (different data collected, new third parties involved, different retention), we'll update the effective date at the top and surface the change on the site. Minor wording cleanups won't bump the date.
