I started M&M with one machine and a phone. The model hasn't changed: I quote the job, I run the machine, and my name is on the invoice. No middle layer between the customer and the person who actually has to make the work happen.
We do excavation, land clearing, drainage, demolition, dirt loading, rock loading, and erosion control across the East Texas counties we cover.
East Texas soil isn't one thing — Houston Black clay on the west side, sandy loam by the lakes, caliche in pockets around Cedar Creek. Knowing what the dirt does before you dig is the difference between two days of work and two weeks of fighting it. That's the part we bring to every job.

Before M&M
Years of field reps across East Texas
Michael grew up around equipment and grew into it the long way — running machines for other operators, learning what East Texas soil does on dry days and wet ones, learning which county permits which jobs and which neighbors care which direction the dust blows.

Day One
M&M founded with one machine and a phone
Started M&M with the operating principle that hasn't changed: show up, do the work, stand behind it. No franchise, no investors, no marketing department. The same guy who answers the phone is the guy on the seat of the excavator.

Built Out
Expanded equipment, kept the model
Added trucks, added a skid steer, added a dozer — every piece bought outright as the work paid for it. Never took the shortcut of growing past the point where Michael could still personally vouch for every job.

How We Work
Four Operating Principles.
Show Up When We Said
Dirtwork is a schedule problem before it's a dirt problem. We hold the calendar because the framer, the slab crew, and the inspector are all holding theirs. Late by a day on grading means late by a week on framing — we know it, and we run our days against it.
Quote The Real Number
Every estimate starts on-site. We don't ballpark over the phone because the price is in the soil, the slope, and the access — not the spec sheet. The number you sign is the number you pay, unless you change the scope.
Equipment Right-Sized For The Lot
Tight residential lot? We bring the mini-ex, not the 80,000-lb crawler. Open ranch acreage? We bring the right hauler so we're not making forty trips. Wrong-sized equipment is what tears up your driveway and your neighbor's fence.
Own The Work After We Leave
If the drainage doesn't drain or the pad isn't level, the answer isn't a contract clause — it's coming back to fix it. Owner-operated means there's no one to point at when something doesn't go right.
