Dirtwork term
SWPPP
also called: Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
Federal/state-required plan for keeping sediment, debris, and pollutants out of waterways during construction.
SWPPP stands for Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. Under EPA and TCEQ rules in Texas, any construction site that disturbs 1 acre or more (or is part of a larger common plan of development) needs a SWPPP on file and physical controls in place before earth-moving starts.
The physical part is the visible stuff: silt fence around the perimeter, inlet protection on storm drains, erosion blankets on slopes, sediment traps at low points, stabilized construction entrances so dirt doesn't track onto public roads. The paper part is inspections, rainfall logs, and corrective-action records the developer has to keep.
We handle SWPPP installation and maintenance as part of subdivision and commercial site work. Skip it and you risk TCEQ enforcement, neighbor complaints, and a stop-work order.
