Erosion Control FAQ

What people ask before they hire us for erosion control. If yours isn't here, call or fill out the form, we'll answer it.

Q01When's the right time to do erosion control in East Texas?
Before the rain, not after. Late winter through spring is the highest-risk window here. If you've cleared land or disturbed soil and you haven't put controls in yet, call us. We can mobilize quickly.
Q02Will silt fencing actually hold up in a hard East Texas rain?
When it's installed correctly, posts at the right spacing, fabric properly trenched into the soil, yes, it handles normal to heavy rainfall. When it's just staked in and not trenched, it fails every time. We don't cut those corners.
Q03Do I really need erosion control if I'm just clearing a few acres?
Almost always yes. In East Texas, cleared land with no vegetation cover is highly vulnerable to runoff, especially in clay-heavy areas. Many counties also require controls on disturbed acreage over a certain threshold, we'll tell you what applies to your property.
Q04How long before I see grass coming in after seeding?
Bermuda or native grass germinates in 10–21 days during warm months out here. Full ground cover takes 45–90 days. We recommend erosion blankets on steeper slopes to protect seed until it establishes, especially heading into a wet season.
